Alex made this the very best tour we have ever taken. We have been on walking tours all over the world. Alex was charming, helpful, very knowledgeable and entertaining. The food was outstanding. As he pointed out it brought back the best of memories. Tours like this are great fun when the guide really enjoys sharing his/her picture of their city. Alex exemplifies this better than any tour we have ever been on. A great tour with lots of interesting stories and facts, great food and meeting a wonderful person.

We had the best time on this tour, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. We took the Highline/Greenwich Village/Historic Downtown tour. It was a full day of so much fun visiting the beautiful neighborhoods of NYC. Alex was our guide and he was the best! Full of so much information that he had us entertained the whole day. My husband and I completed the Greenwich village and downtown walking tour. We enjoyed a variety of delicious foods, from chocolate to pizza to sandwiches, old fashioned soda cream drinks, and more. We had Nancy as our guide and she was fantastic. We also enjoyed hearing the history of the historic downtown section. It was a wonderful experience and we plan on doing it again on our next NYC visit!

My 14 year old granddaughter listed this as one of her favourite things to do in NYC – and we were here for four days and did a lot – so kudos for being on the top of the list! The right mix of walking (High Line Park is awesome), food, and history. Jennifer is funny, current, and informative. Highly recommend!

Despite rain and high winds, we really enjoyed our High Line Walking Tour with Annabel on April 9th. She was interesting, friendly and knowledgeable and told us many facts about this area of Manhattan that is growing fast! A great insight into this stunning part of New York and we would definitely recommend it, we are first time visitors and loved every minute.

My class took a senior trip to NYC and 7 of us went on a walking tour of historical downtown manhattan, along with a food tour of Chinatown. Of all the activities that we did that week, the tour was easily in the top three. Our guide was super personable and helpful, he even gave us his number and provided restaurant suggestions throughout the rest of our trip. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

I booked the Hells Kitchen walking food tour as part of a global family pre-Christmas reunion as something a bit different for a mixture of both ages and first time and seasoned NYC visitors.

Our tour guide Nancy was very informative with a real passion and had a depth of knowledge of the area and its history which provided us with lots of background whiltst pointing out some really interesting facts we would never have spotted or known about on a self tour. The tour took us to some “local” food places that we would easily have walked past as tourists. This was followed up with some tips for other areas of NYC we were visiting in the trip and an e-mail with details of everywhere we’d been taken. Also would like to say thanks to Nancy for going the extra mile and very kindly arranging candles on the “dessert” stop for one of our party for whom it was their birthday on the day.

Overall the food was excellent and let us try things we otherwise normally wouldn’t have and all of the group reported they really enjoyed the whole experience and tour. Highly recommended!

On this trip, I received a tour of both the High Line and Greenwich Village from Alex Drywa. During the tour he described each place he pointed out and also gave a history of it and the surrounding neighborhood. After getting a tour of the High Line, we headed to Greenwich Village where we got background on places like Stonewall and Julius’ Bar (we even saw the apartment from “Friends!”) He then took us on a magical food tour where my mouth experienced some of the best things that it ever has. Bursting with flavors, I tasted chocolate, pizza, bagels, italian sandwiches and cannolis. I was honestly floored, even shed a small tear. It was actually amazing and Alex was really fun, helpful, and informative. I definitely recommend this service.

Thought I’d sent this review but obviously not! We were in Manhattan just before Xmas with our 3 teenagers and had a magical 4 days, one of which was spent with Alex on a food walking tour of Greenwich Village and downtown Manhattan and financial district. We learnt so much about the history, culture, famous characters attached to each point of interest, I just wish I could have recorded every word that Alex – our tour guide uttered. Then there was the food. Not tiny taster portions but individual servings of the best pizza in New York, Italian triple decker sandwiches, spicy balls of yumminess, Italian desserts and pastries, home made chocolates and traditional American sodas were just some of the food we enjoyed. We were stuffed and so glad we hadn’t eaten breakfast. Not only the best tour in terms of quality of info and anecdotes but also food. If you can book with Alex. What he doesn’t know about New York isn’t worth knowing. Highlight of our break. Thanks guys!

What a great experience for the Leadership Team – after two long days of meetings, this tour gave them energy and they were really thrilled to learn more about Greenwich Village. Our team has folks from Switzerland, Italy and many parts of the USA and though most had been to NYC, none had experienced what they learned on the tour and they loved the food choices! Thanks MWT for a wonderful time and a most memorable experience for the team!

This 4 hour walking/tasting tour was fabulous! We ate our way through Hell’s Kitchen tasting amazing dishes from 5 different ethnic restaurants. From Mediterranean to Druze cooking, each more delicious than the last!! Then we walked off our tasting through Central Park. Alex, our guide, knew is stuff about the history of the this incredible city and park. You can see how much he loves being a New Yorker. We highly recommend the Manhattan Walking Tour Company:)

This tour was great. Really informative and really laid back. You see a local side to NYC you would never normally see. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to NYC, especially because of their policy of only 8 people on a tour. You really feel like you are spending a day with friends in the city.

Manhattan Walking Tour is perhaps the best way to get to know Hell’s Kitchen in an afternoon. The tour took us to a number of different eateries in the area, but also told us all the great stories of the local Irish gangs of the past, colourful characters like Dutch Fred and Mickey Spillane, and interesting facts like the reason why there are no high rises along this part of 9th Avenue.

The guide, Nancy, clearly knew her subject and gave us lots of tips for eating and drinking out in the area. We also did the extended Central Park tour with her, which was also lovely. Central Park is worth a visit anyway, but having a guide to point out all the interesting details and features makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
