My 14 year old granddaughter listed this as one of her favorite things to do in NYC – and we were here for four days and did a lot – so kudos for being on the top of the list! The right mix of walking (High Line Park is awesome), food, and history. Jennifer is funny, current, and informative. Highly recommend!
Alex provided a custom tour for our group. He was very knowledgeable and created a fabulous tour. The group enjoyed the background information and all of the places they visited which were all expecting our visit and very welcoming. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking to experience tours in the City. We had rave reviews from all 18 of our guests!
My class took a senior trip to NYC and 7 of us went on a walking tour of historical downtown manhattan, along with a food tour of Chinatown. Of all the activities that we did that week, the tour was easily in the top three. Our guide was super personable and helpful, he even gave us his number and provided restaurant suggestions throughout the rest of our trip. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!
Kudos to Alex and Manhattan Walking Tours for an excellent afternoon spent touring Greenwich Village. We did the Greenwich Village Food Tour. The group size is small which I prefer. The limit is 8 persons, but they were nice enough to accommodate 9 of my family and me. We were a diverse group: 9 and 12 year olds, two teenage girls, 40+. No complaints! No boredom experienced throughout the tour among this diverse group…which is saying a lot about the tour. The tour included unique and delicious food as well as noteworthy streets and buildings. It was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. The entire tour is perfectly timed. Alex had an intern who would ensure our food and a place to sit were waiting for us! We also learned just the right amount of history without it getting too lecture like. Greenwich Village and this tour shouldn’t be missed.
What a great experience for the Leadership Team – after two long days of meetings, this tour gave them energy and they were really thrilled to learn more about Greenwich Village. Our team has folks from Switzerland, Italy and many parts of the USA and though most had been to NYC, none had experienced what they learned on the tour and they loved the food choices! Thanks MWT for a wonderful time and a most memorable experience for the team!
We combined these three tours for about a 6 hour experience. Manhattan Walking tours are the best!! The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable but what sets these tours apart is the size of the group. MWT’s limits the group size to 8 people (or less) which is GREAT! You can hear and see everything easily (we passed other groups with up to 25 people crowding around their guide to try and hear! Also, there is plenty of great food (on the food portion of the tour). We LOVE this company and the guides and the owner Garry is a GREAT guy and always accessible! We highly recommend any of the tours by Manhattan Walking Tours!
We had the best time on this tour, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. We took the Highline/Greenwich Village/Historic Downtown tour. It was a full day of so much fun visiting the beautiful neighborhoods of NYC. Alex was our guide and he was the best! Full of so much information that he had us entertained the whole day. Thank you Alex for making this a great day for all of us on your tour! Will definitely book another tour with you on our next visit to NYC!!
I spent 2 of my 4-day, solo, first ever visit to NYC with Nancy & Alex, tour guides. I did 2 combo tours (Times Square/Hells Kitchen/Central Park & Highline/Greenwich Village/Historic Downtown). I loved every step. Both of my guides love their city & it shows. Who needs a guide book when you’ve got this company? The tour groups are small & personal. Forget the big bus tours – get to know the “real” city, it’s people & it’s food with Manhattan Walking Tour!
My husband and I completed the Greenwich village and downtown walking tour. We enjoyed a variety of delicious foods, from chocolate to pizza to sandwiches, old fashioned soda cream drinks, and more. We had Nancy as our guide and she was fantastic. We also enjoyed hearing the history of the historic downtown section. It was a wonderful experience and we plan on doing it again on our next NYC visit!
Russell had the right mix of facts, insights, humour & New York chutzpah to bring these 2 tours to life for a pair of Sydney siders. The High Line experience brought to life the local history with a side of social, art and architecture commentary. Even though you will have walked up an appetite by the time you reach Greenwich Village you will be glad you took their advice and had a light breakfast as the foods ‘sampled’ are generous, delicious, authentic and eclectic – just like New York! Russell’s love and knowledge of his city was the ‘crema’.
